Anne Henderson & Karen Mapp once quoted, “When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more.”
At Papatoetoe South School, we have seen positive shifts in student academic achievement, and when parents and school are working together the success is accelerated.
Next term we are going to run some Talanoa events, where we can work together, to help raise student achievement. These are workshops where parents can share what is working at home (home learning) as well as learn from other parents and teachers.
Please complete the survey in the link below if you would like to either help us run a workshop or attend our workshops.
“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents”– Jane D Hull. We are excited to be working with you, learning from you and continuing to support your child/children’s learning journey.
