COVID-19 Update

Please stay home and stay safe if you, your child or anyone else in your home:

  • have symptoms
  • are waiting for a Covid-19 test result
  • are self-isolating
  • have been advised by health authorities to remain at home
  • has had a negative Covid-19 test result but has symptoms to stay at home until they are symptom free
  • adults also need to stay offsite if they are unwell.

Please remember to stay in contact with the school to inform us of your situation. Please ring 09 278 5231 or to report an absence go to

Please note that if you or a member of your household has been tested for Covid-19 the school will need to site the negative test results prior to your child returning to school.

Contact tracing remains a priority therefore family members that come on site must ‘check in’ on the NZ COVID Tracer App and register at the office as a visitor (if on site during school hours). The QR code is posted at the gate and around the school. This is to ensure if we did have any chances that we can easily support our community and the Ministry with tracing. Please ensure that the NZ COVID Tracer App is already downloaded to your phone before coming to the school gate.

We are continuing to follow clear Health and Safety processes at this time:

  • drinking fountains will remain turned off for the remainder of this year. Our tamariki will need to bring a named water bottle to school, with enough water to last the day.
  • hand sanitiser at entry to classrooms and in shared spaces where available. Soap, water and the ability to dry hands must be provided in bathrooms. Although sanitiser is available, washing and drying hands with soap is still the most effective hygiene measure.
  • please talk with your child/children about a good drop off and pick up place that is not directly outside the gate, if possible. This will reduce the number of adults and students in a small area and allow for the 2 metre distancing between adults to be adhered to.

We need your help to keep our students, community and staff as safe as possible.

Please talk with your child about the importance of effective hygiene practice and if your child is showing any symptoms of Covid-19 can include new onset or worsening of one or more of the following – Cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing and / or temporary loss of smell then please consult with your doctor.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
