2020 Out of Zone Ballot
If you are living out of our school zone, have a child that will be turning 5 in 2019 and you would like to enrol them at Papatoetoe South, application forms are available at the school office, or click on the link above, to download and print a form. The ballot is not open at present but you may submit your application to be held until the dates are advised by the Ministry of Education.

Applications for enrolment of students who live outside the geographic area will be processed in the following order of priority. Acceptance will be subject to the availability of vacancies within the school.
will be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in the special programmes run by the school and approved by the Secretary of Education:
- Le Va (ORS funded) - ORS funding approval letter to be included with application
- Bilingual classrooms
will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students
will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students
will be given to applicants who are a child of a former student of the school
will be given to applicants who are a child of an employee of the Board of the school or a child of a member of the Board of the school
will be given to all other applicants.
If there are more applicants than places available selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989.
Parents and caregivers will be informed of the date of any ballot by a notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.
Applicants seeking second or third priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
All applicants are to include a letter addressed to the Board detailing why the parent/caregiver would like their child to attend Papatoetoe South School instead of their local school.
The school reserves the right to carry out due diligence on any document received.
